This tea was recommended to me directly by my doctor to help relieve severe constipation. There's no way to tell if the senna actually started labor or it was just a coincidence. I also read about women using senna to try to induce labor with varying results. I also found info from doctors saying it is safe for women to use for relief of constipation during pregnancy, but should be avoided during the 3rd trimester out of caution. I did find actual studies saying it was safe for use by pregnant women with no mention of the possibility of it causing uterine contractions. It was hard to find concrete info on senna. Most of the info about senna possibly causing contractions or miscarriage came from women on boards similar to this one.
There is nothing on the actual package about not using it during pregnancy. I was up half the night researching this after reading your comments.
